Division and Unity

We are divided. We are united.

We need to be divided so we can be unified.

God, divide us, God, unite us.

Persons, broken down of our constructs.

May we be broken into pieces, free from attachments.

Broken hearted.

May our hearts break for our complicity, our indifference, our violence.

Distinct and separate, each of us in a world alone.

May we be truly unique, truly authentic, truly capable of sharing and being liberated souls.

The sword that pierces hearts becomes healing balm.

Divided, and united.

In love, in common.

May we be united in our common humanity, one human family of many members.

Frailty and brilliance.

May our limitations and our transcendence both be honored, expressed, and loved.

From waiting for Christ to a Christ consciousness.

May we all be rooted and grounded in love, seeing with eyes of transformative compassion.

One and many.

May we be united in our plurality.

God, divide us to unite us.

Our selves, our cells,

One body many members,

And unique persons on a crazy adventure.

Surely we cannot be together if we cannot be alone, and the same goes in reverse.
