you are the love you've been waiting for
No one can love you like you do. No one can love me like I do.
This does not mean we close ourselves off to love, but instead recognize where we have been waiting for love, looking for love in all the wrong places, giving others the power and responsibility to do what only we can do for ourselves.
We love ourselves. We learn to love ourselves. We love others. We learn to love others.
Love is both/and. When I expect others to love me as only I can love, I will forever be dejected and disappointed. The best and brightest of the loving essence I bring is something no one else can replace or even replicate, so why would I wait for it to be returned to me?
I know my greatest needs, my deepest insecurities, the pains I have experienced and the challenges I have overcome. I am well equipped to love myself with the loving attention suited to me. I speak my love languages fluently. I know the cacophony of voices from judgment to which I have become accustomed and I know just the seeds of loving-kindness I need to sow. I have the power to love me, the choice to love me, the unique expression of exactly the love that speaks to me. And so do you.
YOU ARE THE LOVING PRESENCE YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.
YOU HAVE THE LOVE YOU NEED. YOU ARE THE LOVER AND SUPPORTER OF YOURSELF THAT YOU ARE WAITING FOR OR IMAGINE AS OUTSIDE OF YOU.
YOU ARE AND YOU HAVE THE LOVE YOU NEED.
You are the love you've been waiting for.
Tomorrow, we'll look into some of the ways we cultivate self-love and create aid stations to be with ourselves even in the midst of fear and pain.
Have a magical day, friends!
